Rabbi Arthur Schneier and an Appeal of Conscience Foundation Delegation return from a five day stay in Havana, Cuba

Dec 1, 2006 -- Rabbi Arthur Schneier, President of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation (ACF), accompanied by Mrs. Elisabeth Schneier, Monsignor Robert Sheeran, President of Seton Hall University and member of the ACF Advisory Council and Mr. Francis Belmont, ACF Associate, returned from a five day stay in Havana, Cuba.


The delegation met with Dr. Ricardo Alarcon, President of the National Assembly, and Ms. Caridad Bello Diego, Director, Office of Religious Affairs of Cuba. They also met with leaders of religious communities, individually and at a reception hosted by Ambassador and Mrs. Michael Parmly of the United States Interests Section in Havana.


The delegation also participated in the 100th Anniversary Celebration of the Cuban Jewish Community. Adela Dworin, President of the La Comunidad Hebrea de Cuba presented Rabbi Schneier and the ACF with a plaque “in honor of the many significant contributions you have made to the community.”
